The Ayia Napa Municipality is offering the local community all its residents, locals and tourists, a different idea to staying inside with friends & Family.

On New Year's Eve, at the Central square of Ayia Napa, their will be Christmas Melodies, Carols and Dances performed by "To Rodi" - Ormidia's Dancing Group and also Santa Claus will be there too. Not only the shows will be taking place, the "Agrotospito" will be lighting up/turning on the traditional clay oven, cooking traditional delicacies and offering free wine to the visitors to the place found below the main square. As the New Year (and the new National currency - the Euro) arrives at midnight (00.00hrs) fireworks will be lit to add to the enjoyment of the night.

After this, the "Vassilopitta" - a traditional New Year's Cake - will be cut and shared out to those who are there and traditional soup will also be served afterwards as well, to keep you warm.

All this will continue through to the early hours of New Year's Day.

All are welcome & entrance is free (unlike so many other places)
