Situated in a Village outside of Ayia Napa called Sotira, To Ploumni Tavern is a traditional Tavern in every respect. The actual tavern is built within the walls of an old traditional house complete with its own backyard to provide a rare setting for a restaurant.
Upon arrival and even before you enter the actual Tavern itself you are struck by the traditional setting of the outside walls and the old wooden doors as you enter. Upon your entrance (before the winter weather comes) you enter the backyard and find the tables in front of you.
It was decided to have a Meze course which never seemed to end. The course begins with your starters (Salads, dips and freshly baked traditional bread) and then the main part of the Meze arrives at a steady pace and before you realize it you are full. The drinks are always at the right temperature to accompany the meal and at the end there are also traditional desserts should you be able to find room at the end.
Service was superb and the staff polite and the positioning of the Tavern set off the main road in its rare setting adding to the identity of the Tavern.
