Who said Ayia Napa is dead in the winter? Just because the end of summer has arrived means Ayia Napa becomes deserted. Do the locals want to rest for the whole winter?
To help promote Ayia Napa in the coming winter months and in association with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation as usual, the local council has announced a full programme to cover not just the Holiday period but the whole of winter season until the end of March.
All events will be free of charge and take place in the Ayia Napa Municipal Conference Hall, a modern complex in the Center of Ayia Napa.
The first event is on the 3rd of November starting at 8pm (20.00hrs) with events continuing every Thursday onwards except towards the end of the Cultural programme due to the various National Holidays (25th March, 1st April.)
The events up until the end of 2008 are as follows:
Monday 3rd November 2008: Dancing Group "Art a Culture University" of Moscow
Thursday 6th November 2008: "Tribute to Nicos Xilouris" - "Anatoliki Mesogios" Musical Group
Thursday 13th November 2008: Classical Music and Songs with Taziana Jojat (Italian Soprano) and Lenia Kalli (Cypriot Soprano)
Thursday 20th November 2008: "Tou Pelagous" with the Musical Group "Orfeas" and the Dancing Group "Dionyssos"
Thursday 27th November 2008: "Burn the Floor" with the Siakallis Dancing Group
Thursday 4th December 2008: Cyprus Traditional Music presented by "I Las" Musical Group
Thursday 11th December 2008: Classical Music and Songs: Soprano-Mezzo Soprano-Piano with Aura Shiati, Keti Economidou and Marios Ioannou
Thursday 18th December 2008: Christmas Music and songs - With the Cypriot Police Force Philharmonic Band
Thursday 25th December 2008: Christmas Day. No Events planned.
Events are also planned for the 26th and 31st December.
The rest of the programme will follow closer to the time and the Christmas Programme around mid November.
