It's that time of year again, for the Christians of the Island when we turn on the Christmas Decorations in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ. That is the real meaning of Christmas which is often lost amongst the chaos of the modern world.

The Ayia Napa council wishes to inform the residents of the area as well as the tourists that on Saturday 6th December at 5pm (17.00hrs) in the Central Square of the town the Festive Lighting of the Christmas Decorations for 2008 will take place in front of the Mayor Mr. Antonis Tsokkos and the Aya Napa council.

The Cyprus Police Philharmonic Band, the Ayia Napa Municipal Choir as well as the "Winter Wonderland" Musical group will accompany the opening of the lights and decorations by performing Christmas Carols, Songs and Dances. There will be Free Wine and delicacies at the "Agrospito" (The Traditional Farm House) and also fireworks during the event.

Let's not forget the Santa's train will also be around for those who want to take a ride on it.

Everybody is welcome along.
