The local Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr Antonis Tsokkos has outlined in a recent meeting with Famagusta deputies, the things that he has planned for the Town.

The main point which was mentioned was the proposed Marina in Ayia Thekla. For the moment things have stalled, but the Mayor has "secured a promise from the Commerce Minister that it would be sped up", it has emerged.

Other than the Marina, the upgrade of the Archiepiskopou Makariou III Avenue (already taking place) along with the side streets and also a proposed park next to the post office are planned. Also, "Pedestrian lighting along the beach walkway" should also be ready for the summer.

Finaly, not related to the Tourist sector, works are to begin on the town's second Primary school, close to the local municipal stadium.
