The Easter programme begins on Thursday 16th with the Church service and ends on Easter Monday late in the evening.

The full programme is as follows:

Holy Thursday 16th April:

18.30 (6.30pm): Service of the Passion of the Christ

Good Friday:

08.30 (8.30am): Burial Of Jesus

19.00 (7pm) : Lamentations of the Tomb of Christ

21.00 (9pm) : Procession of the Epitaphios

Easter Saturday:

07.00 (7am): First Resurrection Service

21.00 (9pm): Lighting of the Bonfire

24.00 - 02.30 (Midnight - 2.30am): Midnight Resurrection Service, Matins and Divine Liturgy

** : Fireworks

Easter Sunday:

11.00 (11am): Vespers of Love - The Gospel will be read in other languages as well.

16.00 - 18.00 (4 - 6pm): Baking of Flaounes, (Traditional Cheese Pies mainly made around Easter), and preparation of red eggs at the Cyprus Traditional Farm House

19.30 - 20.10 (7.30 - 8.10pm): Cyprus & Greek Dances performed by the Ayia Napa Municipal Dancing Group

20.15 - 21.00 (8.15 - 9pm): Cypriot, Greek and RomanianTraditional Dances by the Achna Folkloric Group.

21.05 (9.05pm): Greek Music Concert by the Musical Group “Maria Zintili & Andreas Nicolaou”

Easter Monday 28th April:

15.00 - 16.00 (3 - 4pm): More baking of Flaounes and preparation of red eggs at the Cyprus Traditional Farm House

16.00 (4pm): Vespers of Love

16.30 (4.30pm): Swings & Tsattista (Folkloric love poems)

17.00 (5pm): Traditional Easter Games (Bag racing, Egg & Spoon races, etc)

19.30 - 20.30 (7.30 - 8.30 pm): Cyprus & Greek Dances performed by the Ayia Napa Municipal Dancing Group

20.35 (8.35pm): “Great Greek Composers” by the Music Ensemble “Anerada” and “Rymvos” Dancing Group with the singers Nasia Trachonitou and Efthimios Papadopoulos.

All events take place in and around the Ayia Napa central Square.
