Ayia Napa may be quieter than the summer months but that means essential work can be done.

As mentioned before the local Municipality has begun major extensive work to upgrade the Tourist resort and this is not just resurfacing work but a major make over.

Continuing from where it left off last April it has just about finished the road starting from the roundabout of the Agia Napa Harbour all the way to the top of the Hill (Archbishop Makarios III Avenue). The road remains as it was but the major change is that now you can't do any overtaking as it is now has a division built in the middle of the road and it is now a fully paved road. The pavements have also been changed too and the Taxi Square below the Church has also been reconstructed. (At the time of writing this is still taking place but close to finishing). The road in front of the CTO office is also been given a similar upgrade with the pavements being totally renovated too.

Also, construction on the new Harbour on the way to Ayia Thekla is continuing so if you're travelling in that direction take extra care as the roads are not in the best of state.

It's not just the Municipality which is undergoing works but the biggest Club in Ayia Napa (yes, the Castle Club) is completely changing the top room after ripping out the walls. Also the Jammin' Bar has also changed it's look and finally one more - the Jurassic park is also going renovations.

So as you can now see, preparations are well and truly underway with all sorts of work going on in getting ready for the new summer Tourist season.
