The 26th Festival of Ayia Napa begins on Friday 24th September at 7.30pm (19.30) and ends on the 26th September after the Dancing event which begins at 9.45pm (21.45).
Apart from the usual entertainment programme, which includes a daily 1/2 hour Shadow Puppet show for the younger audience, the Festival will have various exhibitions (18 of them this year) of various themes included a few dedicated to Ayia Napa itself of which one looks at the Ayia Napa of today and compares it to the original town before the tourist invasion after the events of 1974. Also during the Festival, the Cyprus Traditional Farmhouse (the Agrospito) will be open as an exhibition place with all the furniture, interior design, equipment and agricultural tools of a Traditional Cypriot House.
Whilst in the garden of the Farmhouse there will be an exhibition of various household, rural and agricultural activities such as making of Zivania (a traditional Alcoholic Drink), Halloumi (a Cypriot soft cheese made from Goat's milk traditionally), Macaroni, Salted meat (Pasta as it's called), bread and Palouzes.
Further more, exhibitions of traditional arts like Woodwork, basket making, pottery etc. will also be open for the public.
