On Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 7am (7.00hrs) until midday (12.00hrs) the Epiphany celebrations will take place in and around Ayia Napa.

The celebrations will begin from the Ayia Napa Church with the Church Service for the Epiphany which will be followed by the Baptism of the Holy Cross and the blessing of the waters at the Ayia Napa Harbour with the Paralimni Municipal Philharmonic Band and the Corp. of the National Guard as well.

The most reverend Metropolitan of Constantia - Famagusta area Mr Vasilios will be the Head of the Divine Service with the presence of the Minister of Interior in attendance too.

After the Priest has baptised the waters by throwing in the Holy Cross, the first Swimmer to bring out the cross will be awarded a prize. This will be followed by Cypriot and Greek Traditional dances and songs, which will take place at the harbour, performed by the "Kimon" Xylotimbou Cultural Association along with the "Echochromata" Musical Group.

This event will bring to a close the Christmas events on the last day of Christmas for this holiday period.

Again, the "Visit Ayia Napa" team wishes you a Happy New Year 2011.
