The Easter programme begins on Thursday 21st with the Church service and ends on Easter Monday late in the evening.

The full programme is as follows:

Holy Thursday 21st April:

18.30hrs (6.30pm): Service of the Passion of the Christ

Good Friday:

08.30hrs (8.30am): Burial Of Jesus

19.00hrs (7.00pm): Lamentations of the Tomb of Christ

21.00hrs (9.00pm): Procession of the Epitaphios

Easter Saturday:

07.00hrs (7.00am): First Resurrection Service

21.00hrs (9.00pm): Lighting of the Bonfire

24.00 - 02.30hrs (Midnight - 2.30am): Midnight Resurrection Service, Matins and Divine Liturgy

**: Fireworks

Easter Sunday:

11.00 (11am): Vespers of Love - The Gospel will be read in other languages as well.

16.00 - 18.00 (4.00 - 6.00pm): Baking of Flaounes, (Traditional Cheese Pies mainly made around Easter), and preparation of red eggs at the Cyprus Traditional Farm House

19.30 - 21.00 (7.30 - 9.00pm): Cyprus & Greek Dances performed by the Ayia Napa Municipal Dancing Group along with the Musical Group "I Las"

21.05 - 21.40 (9.05pm - 9.40pm): Greek Music Concert by the Musical Group “Maria Zintili”

21.45 (9.45pm): Cyprus & Greek Traditional Music Concert by the Musical Group by the Musical Group "Erodie Esperine" and the Ayia Napa Municipal Dancing Group

Easter Monday 5th April:

15.00 - 16.00 (3.00 - 4.00pm): More baking of Flaounes and preparation of red eggs at the Cyprus Traditional Farm House

16.00 (4.00pm): Vespers of Love

16.30 (4.30pm): Swings & Tsattista (Folkloric love poems)

17.00 (5.00pm): Traditional Easter Games (Bag racing, Egg & Spoon races, etc)

20.00 - 21.00 (8.00 - 9.00pm): Cyprus & Greek Dances performed by the Agia Napa Municipal Dancing Group

21.05 - 21.30 (9.05 - 9.30pm): Belly Dance, Modern Jazz Dancing with the Corinne Turner Maltese Folklore Group

21.35: (9.35pm): Greek Music Concert by the Musical Group of “Cavo Grecko”, Agia Napa Cultural Association and also the Agia Napa Municipal Dancing Group.

For those who do not know or remember, Ayia Napa has a Twin Town in Malta, Mellieha which explains the appearance of the Maltese Folklore Group.


All events take place in and around the Agia Napa central Square.
