It's that time of year again, for the Christians of the Island when we turn on the Christmas Decorations in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ. That is the real meaning of Christmas which is often lost amongst the chaos of the modern world.

The Ayia Napa council wishes to inform the residents of the area as well as the tourists that on Saturday 1st December at 5pm (17.00hrs) in the Central Square of the town, the Mayor Mr Antonis Tsokkos and the Ayia Napa council will perform the Festive Lighting of the Christmas Decorations.

The Cyprus Police Philharmonic Band, the Ayia Napa Municipal Choir and the Musical Group "Winter Wonderland" will accompany the opening of the lights and decorations by performing Christmas Carols, Songs and Dances.

Also, at the Cyprus Traditional Farm House "Agrospito", which is located just down from the main square, you will be able to taste Christmas delicacies, have free wine and for the kids, and those who feel like a kid, a ride on Santa's train.
