The new national currency - the Euro - is around the corner. If you're happy with it or not it will be part of the Cypriot way of life for the future.

TV, Radio, Newspapers and other forms of media are constantly reminding us about the change over. For those who do not live in Cyprus and are planning a holiday over here must be warned that as of the 1st January, Cyprus pounds will be withdrawn and replaced by the Euro and as of 1st Febuary, the Cyprus pound, will belong in the past.

Banks will continue to accept Cyprus pounds in exchange for Euro for a limited time.

All Businesses are being advised to hand in their Cypriot money in advance in order to help with the change over, especially the coins which will have less time.
