What do the Olympic Games and Visit Ayia Napa have in common? Watersports.

Windsurfing, canoeing and Swimming amongst other sports connect them, but not up to the Olympic standards of course .

Visit Ayia Napa is proud to be sponsoring the Olympian, Gabriella Hadjidamianou who will be taking part in the RSX Windsurfing event, during the 9th to the 21st August (Weather permitting). The exact days & times will be announced closer to the time.

For those who do not know anything about the sport, it is a series of races (not just one(1)) where all results count and on completion of these races, the 10 best athletes then progress to the Gold Fleet, the Final race, in order to compete for an Olympic Medal.

Gabriella Hadjidamianou also took part at the 2004 Athens Olympics just missing out a Top 20 place finishing 21st on 195.0 in the Women's Mistral category. For those who wish to follow her warm-up to the Olympic Games in Bejing this summer, will be able to keep up with all her news via her website coming soon.

Visit Ayia Napa wishes her all the best at the Olympics and hope she manages a better position that the Athens Olympics and continues to do Cyprus proud.
