According to Government Statistics, February has brought about an increase of 11.2% in comparison with 2007 and a 2 month increase of 5.1% with a large part of the increase coming from German tourists.

The Greeks, Swedish & Russian tourists also increased but the total from the UK was slightly down with the general amount of tourists from the UK at around 45%.

Total revenue for January saw a 0.9% increase in real terms and average spending and average stay per a tourist were also up. Another  interesting statistic showed that people making individual arrangements spent less for their holiday rather than those who booked a package holiday.

On the other side of the coin, the total capacity of beds fell by almost 2,000 beds but more people were staying with relatives or friends in other accommodation not related to the CTO.
